Our Initiatives

SBTi Objectives

Contship has formally committed to setting greenhouse gas emission reduction goals aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These encompass near-term targets for 2030 and long-term Net Zero goals for 2050, with formal submission for validation scheduled by the end of 2026.

By joining the Smart Freight Centre (SFC), the leading international organization for freight transport decarbonization, we strengthen our commitment to a more efficient, low-emission logistics model. Becoming part of a global network of logistics operators provides access to specialized expertise that helps guide future investments, accelerating the sector’s energy transition.

Guarantees of Origin

The electricity consumption at our Melzo and La Spezia terminals is fully covered by Guarantees of Origin (GOs) from renewable sources on an annual basis. This ensures that for each MWh of electricity we consume, an equal amount generated from renewable energy sources is fed into the national grid.

Supporting customers in their decarbonisation journey

Decarbonizing the value chain depends on accurate data, alternative transportation solutions, and precise measurement of environmental performance.
For this reason, Contship is expanding its services to help customers identify and capitalize on concrete opportunities to reduce emissions through low-carbon transportation solutions, advanced reporting tools, and data analysis.
