Nationally and Europe wide, the inland terminal stands at the crossroads between East, West, North, and South acting as an Italian hub for maritime and continental traffic, creating maritime connections to and from the main Italian ports (such as La Spezia, Genoa, and Ravenna), and national (Padua, Modena, Ravenna, Verona, Trieste, Bari, Nola), and international (Rotterdam, Duisburg, Cologne, Ludwigshafen and Budapest) inland connections.
