Contship participates in the 2024 edition of “Shipping, Forwarding & Logistics meet Industry”

The event, now in its eighth edition this year, aims to address the challenges and potential solutions for maritime trade and logistics in the current scenario of geopolitical and economic crisis.

Contship Group will be among the partners of the 2024 edition of “Shipping, Forwarding & Logistics meet Industry”, an event that brings together leaders from the logistics, shipping, transport, and Italian productive economy sectors. The event, promoted by ALSEA and The International Propeller Clubs, will be held on 25 and 26 March in Milan at the Assolombarda Congress Center.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, 26 March, the results of the 2023 Report “Corridors and logistical efficiency of the territories” developed with SRM (Center for Studies affiliated with Intesa Sanpaolo) will be presented.

First launched in 2019, the report continues to provide a rich overview of valuable insights for the supply chain industry. Drawing data from a sample of 400 manufacturing companies in Lombardy, Veneto, and Emilia Romagna, the study analyzes logistical choices related to the use of Italian gateway ports and the methods employed for the transportation of goods to and from the ports.

The focus of this edition extends to the wood and furniture district of Monza Brianza. Additionally, the study delves into three critical issues in the logistics sector: intermodality, incoterms (ex-works), and the growing demand for digitalization.

Following the presentation of the study, a round table will convene to explore these key themes, bringing together institutions and supply chain operators. Matthieu Gasselin, CEO of the Contship Group, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “I would like to thank the team involved in this project and take this opportunity to underline the importance of this research within the context of our corporate mission. We will continue to strive to provide meaningful contributions to the Italian logistics landscape and to promote the competitiveness of our sector. The event will be a unique opportunity to delve into current and future challenges through an informed and constructive debate with the entire logistics community and beyond.”

The agenda for the second day will revolve around digitalization and ESG principles, covering various forms and applications of logistics such as energy supply, rail intermodal, and e-commerce. During these discussions, the Contship will contribute with two interventions featuring Cristiano Pieragnolo and Renato Dessì, Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Information Officer of the Contship Group, respectively. These sessions aim to foster direct exchanges between production companies and logistics operators.
