Contship among promoters of A Bridge To Africa: new Italy-North Africa synergies for development and economic cooperation

 The event, scheduled in La Spezia, explores new business and cooperation opportunities. Industrialization, energy and digital transition, logistics and infrastructure the topics on the agenda

The inaugural edition of A Bridge To Africa, an event dedicated to strengthening economic cooperation between Italy and North African countries, particularly Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, will be held Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15, at the Giorgio Bucchioni Auditorium of the Eastern Ligurian Sea Port System Authority.
Contship, along with other partners in the La Spezia port cluster, is among the promoters of the event, which was born out of cooperation between the public and private sectors. The two-day conference and networking event aims to promote new business opportunities and explore avenues for collaboration and development within the Mattei Plan framework. In fact, through debates, expert panels and institutional meetings, A Bridge To Africa aims to offer new perspectives on crucial issues such as energy transition, maritime logistics and infrastructure.

The event will be opened by an expert session composed of researchers, analysts and entrepreneurs who will analyze the geopolitical context and economic relations between Italy and Africa, concluding with a focus on the Mattei Plan and its prospects for international cooperation. The day will then continue with “Africa’s economic revolution and its opportunities as seen by key players” a session during which delegations from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia will offer a detailed overview of their national economies. During the afternoon, space will also be given to Italian companies operating in North Africa through a panel discussion between local and international companies.

On Friday 15, after institutional greetings from Edoardo Rixi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the agenda will be structured in three main moments: an in-depth look at the energy-chemical factor and the emerging data transport, and two round tables, “La Spezia Maritime Cluster proteso toward Africa”, and “International logistics and maritime companies and the Africa opportunity”, which will see the participation of logistics operators and major players in Italy-North Africa import-export, including Contship itself.
