Quality, Safety, and Environmental Certification for LSCT

The Terminal confirms its presence in compliance with international standards

La Spezia Container Terminal has successfully passed the surveillance visit for maintaining certifications for its Integrated Management System by LRQA, a global leader in certification issuance. This confirms the certification in compliance with international ISO standards: ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety, renewing what was already issued in March 2024.

This recognition confirms the daily commitment of the La Spezia terminal to implementing a process of continuous improvement of its standards and procedures, validating a path begun in the late 1990s: LSCT was among the first companies in the sector to successfully undertake the certification process for an integrated management system integrating Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment. The first Quality certification dates back to 1997, the Environmental certification to 2003, and the Health and Safety certification to 2009.

The activities were preceded by an important phase of planning and preparation by all company functions.

“During the surveillance visit, we had the opportunity to verify the effectiveness of our integrated management system for quality, safety, and the environment. Very positive results emerged, testifying to the constant commitment of our Group to promoting a work environment compliant with standards, and for this, I thank all colleagues who worked towards achieving this milestone. The entity identified some opportunities for improvement, which we will manage through specific actions to be shared with the interested company functions. The goal is not only to maintain high standards but also, through continuous improvement, to adapt to future challenges,” stated Ermanno Gianelli, HSE Manager of Contship Italia.
