2M has a maiden call at La Spezia Container Terminal

Med – US Gulf ship premiers at LSCT.

Earlier this week, Contship Italia’s La Spezia Container Terminal welcomed another maiden call, this time on the US Gulf trade. The Kokura operated by Maersk Line, is one of eight ships deployed in 2M’s Med-US Gulf service covering ports in the Gulf of Mexico, one of three weekly services linking LSCT with the US, Canada and Mexico.

She is named after an ancient Japanese castle town at the centre of Kitakyushu, overlooking the Straits of Shimonoseki, between Honshu and Kyushu. Built in 1996, the Kokura has a capacity of 7,400 teus and is 318m in length.
