The award is divided into 7 categories: Research & Development, Training, Sustainability, Multimodality, IT, Logistic Real Estate, HR, etc. Container Service Ravenna srl is a company specialized in the sale, rental, repairing, washing and transformation of containers and special equipment and is located inside the Terminal Container Ravenna, owned by Sapir and the Contship Italia Group. CSR was awarded in the category “Innovation in the Environmental Sustainability”, for its project, called “New Life”. The project was born from the desire to carry out the company business in a sustainable way, optimizing the resources, introducing some principles of circular economy and investing in safeguarding the environment and the health of employees. The project consists in the reduction of waste deriving from container processing. CSR recovers all the pieces and parts of recoverable containers (from doors to panels, corner blocks, platforms, side members, …) also restoring containers with significant damage and repurposing them on the second-hand market. Thanks to the inventiveness and commitment of the CSR staff in the optimization and recovery of containers, the company has also managed to maintain the operational continuity of its people in this difficult economic situation, without having to resort to subsidy tools, such as layoffs. Finally, the recycling of materials avoided the construction of new semi-finished products and the related environmental impact physiologically associated with the production of new components.
