Eurogate Tanger

Eurogate Tanger container terminal, founded in 2008, is the second container terminal (TC2) established within the Tanger Med I port area, an important container transshipment hub in the western Mediterranean, strategically located near the Strait of Gibraltar, within a Special Economic Zone, East of the city of Tangier, in Morocco.

In addition to its role as a strategic platform for container transshipment on East/West (Asia/Europe) and North/South (Europe/Africa) routes, today, Tanger Med I plays an essential role in the development of Morocco’s import/export traffic.

With an 810m long quay, and a 370,000sqm yard area, the terminal currently has a handling capacity of 1.6 million TEUs (nominal handling capacity), ensuring 24/7 operations, 365 days a year. Contship Italia is a shareholder in Eurogate Tanger, owning 20% of the shares.
